Author StarterSite CTP configuration problem

We have installed CS 2007 (with SQL Server 2005 on a separate server) and did
not unpack the CSharp.pup. Instead we unpacked the Starter.pup of the new CS
2007 StarterSite CTP and did the post installation procedures of the CS 2007
installation guide (July 28 2006).

We have tried to run SampleDataImport.exe with no success. Manually imported
AdvWorksCatalog.xml and AdvWorksInventoryCatalog.xml and restarted IIS.
Atfter that we were able to browse and add products to the basket. In
checkout we can register a user but in the shipping stage the shipping method
box is empty.

What is the purpose of the profileSQL_Starter.sql and profileSQL_Starter.xml
files?

Should it be possible to run SampleDataImport.exe in this configuration?
What is the purpose of this .exe?

The instructions in StarterSite CTP were minimal. Are there any instructions
to complete the StarterSite CTP installation with sample data and setting up
the development environment, including CommerceComponentsSource.zip?

Have you seen http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=71818 ?

Specifically there are some steps you need to perform before running the
SampleDataImport tool.

In Windows Explorer, move to the directory where you installed the
Starter site, for example, <drive:>\Inetpub\wwwroot\StarterSite\.
Copy the SampleDataImport.exe file to the StarterSite folder.
Open a Command Prompt window and move to the StarterSite folder.
Type the following command to load the sample data into the Starter Site:
Sampledataimport.exe C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\StarterSite

If that still doesnt work, you will need to provide more information about
the failure (the exception, call stack and repro steps for example).

As for the profileSQL*.* files, they are provided for reference purposes
(so if you wanted to extend the profile schema you could modify those
files).
These files are already contained in the Starter.pup package (If you notice
during the unpacking of the Starter site, on the profiles page, the scripts
that are chosen by default will be similar to these ones).
So if you are not modifying the default schema, you dont need to use these
files.

Hope that helps,

madhur
