Beyond the installation documentation are there any sources of tips/tricks
on starting to build a site based on the feature set included in FP1?

Thanks!
Colin

To further focus this question it appears that the post-installation steps
for FP1 need to repeated for each new site created. Can anyone clarify if
this is a proper order to create a new site using FP1 features?

1. Unpack CSharpSite.PUP
2. Unpack FP1.PUP and
3. Run catalog and discount data migration tool
4. Update web service authorizaiton manager policies
5. Update Business Desk module list for FP1
6. Update web.config for the new Marketing resource

Then from there pop open Visual Studio .NET and start developing away. Is
there anything else I'm missing?

Thanks,
Colin

Those steps look correct. I'd like to clarify a couple of things, though:

- You need to update the autohrization manager policies only for the
MarketingWebService and CatalogWebService.
- If you will only be using discounts based on FP1, you do not need to
unpack the Campaigns resource.
- You cannot use BizDesk to manipulate FP1-based discounts. Discounts
created through BizDesk and the DiscountManager are completely disjoint.

By not installing the Campaigns resource do we lose the ability to do
advertising campaigns?

Thanks,
Colin

Yes.

The Campaigns resource has Advertisements and Direct Mail features.
The marketing resource (in FP1) only has updated Discounts functionality.
It also has new promocode features and uses the new Discount Manager
management application.

Hope that helps
