Installation Issue
|
|
|
| My Environment: (standalone server)
W2K3 Server
CS 2K2 Enterprise
SQL 2000 SP3
MDAC 2.8 (latest)
All other prerequisties are installed, and admin account is being used for
system access and DB setup.
I had CS 2002 installed, then applied SP1 and SP2 (a while back). After
hearing of a major security issue with CS 2002, I uninstalled it - before
removing the SPs. Since then, I cannot remove SP1 or SP2, and now I cannot
reinstall CS2002. The installation makes it all the way to the
Administrative DB Configuration stage and then the install rolls back,
without telling me what the problem is.
I would like to reinstall CS 2002 and SP3, but can't get past the install
problem. Any ideas?

| Thank you for using Microsoft Newsgroups.
Depending on the environment you are trying to build, the only sure way to
re-install Commerce Server would be to rebuild the server from the OS up.
There isn't any documented way of manually cleaning the SPs installations.
You can attempt to manually unregister and delete the SP files/directories.
You will then also have to manually delete FP1 entries in the registry.
It might not work and you might still need to rebuild the server to ensure
proper functionality.
