I'm experiencing exactly the same problem today and have been trying to find
an answer on the newsgroups but with no luck.
Did you ever resolve the problem? And if so, would you be able to give me
some advice?

| Hi,
I've now found a solution to this problem - though not exactly sure what
causes it in the first place (possibly host-header mapping...)
The basic process is:
1 - Create two temporary virtual directories on the Default Web Site (or
another site that will be resolved by http://localhost); one for the website
and one for the bizdesk.
2 - Map these virtual directories to the existing local folders for the site
and bizdesk respectively
3 - Update the Commerce Site Applications so that the host name on the
general tab is localhost and the site name is the name of the virtual
directory , and change the web site to Default Website (or whatever you are
using) on the second tab.
4 - Synchronize the values to update the Commerce Server Admin database
5 - Pack the site
This should now work. You may have to experiment with Virtual Directory
names (I was finding that if they contained punctuation the error was still
occuring). When you unpack the PUP you can then map the applications to the
correct web site and deploy to the root of the site or another virtual
directory.
