| Mike,
The Secure Host Name field is referenced by the AuthManger object to
construct a secure URL (see the AuthManager.GetURL method). If the fsecure
flag is set to true in the GetURL method, the Secure Host Name is used to
construct the URL that is returned. If the fsecure flag is set to false,
the Nonsecure Host Name is used to construct the URL. This object/method is
used by the solution sites and is the purpose for the Secure Host Name and
Nonsecure Host Name fields in Commerce Server Manager.
So, these two fields are not associated with the use of host headers. In
fact, IIS does not support using host headers with SSL. In Commerce Server
2002, you can use host headers without SSL, by setting the host header
value through the Identities tab on the Web Server object in Commerce
Server Manager. Note that the host header settings you provide here are
only relevant if you are using the Data Warehouse and working with Web log
files.
