Hi there.

Our company has a cluster of webservers tied to a single SQL server, linked via Commerce Server 2000.

This past weekend, I was able to successfully transfer the SQL server databases and connection strings to a new SQL server, and our website and ordering systems are working just fine. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like everything has switched over - w
hen I try to power down our old SQLServer, our webserver CPU's immediately jump to 100% utilization - and basically the website is dead until I bring the old SQLserver online and do an IISreset on the webservers.

Looking at the error logs, I see the website is getting a database connection error for the old SQLserver, failing on /includes/global_profile_lib.asp, at these lines.

--
Set mscsProfileService = Server.CreateObject("Commerce.ProfileService")
Call mscsProfileService.Initialize(dictConfig.s_ProfileServiceConnectionString, SCHEMA_CATALOG)

--
Obviously, something with the ProfileService is still linked to the old server. I changed all the connection strings for ProfileService in Commerce Server 2000 (on the SQL server) - does anyone know if there is another set of ProfileService server connec
tions I'm missing?

Thanks for any help.

In Commerce Server Manager, go to Global Resource, your Profile resource ->
Profile Catalog -> Data source -> ProfileService_SQLSource, right click the
ProfileService_SQLSource, get properties, go to "partions" tab, select the
SQL source there and click edit button, check the connection string there
see it has been changed or not.
