Hi Guys!

i tried accessing the catalog manager but i keep on getting this error
"Catalog Web Service in unavailable "

what seems to be the problem here?

Louie,

Generally this error means exactly what it's telling you: you are unable to
connect to the Catalog Web Service!

Here's some troubleshooting advice:

Locate the machine where you actually have the Catalog Web Service
unpacked/installed. When you're logged into that machine, hit the following
address:

http://localhost/CatalogWebService/...WebService.asmx

(note: if you've changed the folder structure where this asmx file resides,
update the above URL as appropriate.)

When the list of WebMethods is displayed, click on the method labeled
GetServiceVersion, and click the Invoke button on the next page. You should
see some nicely formed XML.

If you have trouble performing any of the steps that I've described above,
then you do not have the web service set up properly, and you should
probably go back through the installation guide to verify everything.

If you can perform all the above steps, then just open up the Catalog
Manager application and check that the connection string in the Catalog
Manager is in fact pointing at the correct location.

i got these error msg after i hit the invoke button :

"The catalog web service does not have write access to the
authorizationPolicyPath.Verify that the file exists and that it has the
appropriate permissions"

Joseph,

my catalog manager is already working. i just forgot to add "write"
permission to the user.
