Installing Commerce 2000 on W2K SP4

I am trying to install Commerce 2000 on W2K SP4 and getting a error message
that says "This product can be installed only on SP1 or higher" and the
installation stops. How do i get round this issue?

Background: Adding a server to a existing farm.
