The only way I know to do this is to use Virtual
Catalogs. I did this before where we had a base catalog
containing all the products and categories, and then used
virtual catalogs to expose a Customer Catalog and an
Employee catalog. This gave us the ability to choose
which categeories each one saw, and also control the
pricing if we wanted it to be different. Hope that helps.
