| Hi ,
I just had a couple of question on FP1.I have a category A with
subcategory B which has a sub category C under which there I have a
product P
1)If i set a expression in discount manager which says apply discount on
all products whose product.Catgories contains A.Will it apply on product P
under C?
2)If I set a Simple discount Type discount on A which says 50 % off will
it apply on all products Under C also?

| The answer is yes in both cases. Option 2 should create the type of
expression you indicate for option 1 (using 'contains' operator). You can
verify this by looking at the expression body in the mktg_expression table.
QueryCatalogInfo is the component that retrieves the list of ancestor
categories and populates that into the line item dictionary.

Thanks for the reply.This will help us save a lot of time.Can I bother you
with a couple of more questions.
1) In the same scenario category A has sub category b which in turn has 2
sub categories C and D.If i say product.categories contains A and and
product.categories does not contain D will it apply on products under C
only ?
If a product p1 is in both C and D will it get discount?
2)Will discounts applied on a base catalog be applicable to virtual
catalogs also?
