Add Items to Virtual Catalog with FP1
|
|
| Byron Hopp [MCS] 2005-08-14, 2:47 am |
| We are attempting to utilize web services from FP1 to create a virtual
catalog, and add items from a base catalog. We are getting there part way,
but have problems adding items. Any input would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Byron...

| Byron,
Can you provide more detailed information on the problem you are
experiencing? A code snippet would be helpful too.
Cheers,
Colin

| The problem is that after creating a virtual catalog using the
catalogwebservice we are not able to add items (rules) to that virtual
catalog using the same webservice. We dont have code to show because we don't
know how to do it.
Thank you again.

| See the topic
"Using the Classes in the Catalog system" in the cs2002_agentapi.chm
installed with FP1 in the SDK folder
This has an example on how to add rules to a virtual catalog
Thanks

| Thank you for your help.
The samples that you mention are written in c#.
When running VB I got the next message:
“AddVirtualCatalogRule is not a member of VirtualCatalog”
Do I need to use c# to add rules to the virtual catalogs?
Thank you again.

| This should not be the case. The choice of language should not matter
Can you post your sample code in VB
Thanks

| This code is the C# sample:
VirtualCatalog virtualCatalog =
catalogContext.CreateVirtualCatalog("VirtualCatalog", "en-US", "en-US");
virtualCatalog.AddVirtualCatalogRule("Basecatalog1", null, null, null,
false);
This is what I'm doing in VB:
Dim oVirtualCatalog As UWGCatalog.VirtualCatalog
oVirtual = oUCat.CreateVirtualCatalog("Matrix Test", "en-US", "en-US",
"USD", "", "01/01/2005", "12/31/2005")
oVirtual.AddVirtualCatalogRule("Grocery PNW 20", vbNullString, "20392200",
vbNullString, False)
The first line creates the catalog but the second will tells me
“AddVirtualCatalogRule is not a member of VirtualCatalog”
Thank you a lot!

oVirtual.AddVirtualCatalogRule("Grocery PNW 20", vbNullString, "20392200",
vbNullString, False)
The first line works fine adding the Virtual Catalog but the second line
gives an error: "AddVirtualCatalogRule is not a member of VirtualCatalog".
Thanks a lot!

The first line works fine and adds the virtual catalog.
The secound line returns:
"AddVirtualCatalogRule is not a member of VirtualCatalog".
Thanks a lot!
