Author Catalog.UpdateItems not committed

When deleting a data row from a CatalogItemDataSet and then invoking
UpdateItems(), Save() and Rebuild(true), the changes are not committed to the
virtual catalog.
Any ideas?

To delete a product from a virtual catalog, you will have to add an Exclude
rule on that product. Deleting products using BulkUpdate will not apply on
Virtual Catalogs.

Thanks
