cannot create MSCS_CatalogScratch.mdf error
|
|
|
| hi, I keep getting the following error when trying to install the adventure
works solution site, taken from the pup error log:
Error invoking Import API on Commerce.CatalogPUP for Product Catalog
80040E14:Source:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL ServerDescription:Cannot
create file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL\data\MSCS_CatalogScratch.mdf' because it already
exists.Source:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL ServerDescription:CREATE
DATABASE failed. Some file names listed could not be created. Check previous
errors.
Although it says to check for previous errors, that seems to be the first one.

| Missed a previous line which says:
Failed opening the reg key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OLAP
Server\Uninstall Info
Time=Monday, January 10, 2005 16:04:29 Site=CS2002StarterSiteA
Resource=Global Data Warehouse Function=ExecuteSQLScriptsW
what do I need to do to resolve this?
cheers

| Can you open Sql enterprise manager and check if a database named
MSCS_CatalogScratch exists? If the database exists then drop the database
and run unpup again. If the database does not exist then delete/rename the
file you mentioned below and unpup the site again
