Importing a file ftp to a FP site
|
|
|
| Hi,
I am trying to help a friend who had a FP site built for him and the guy
who did it has gone awol!
I am a HTML code and Dreamweaver programmer so my my stuff there, but
only a little FP experience.
This is the problem.
He has a form that does not work due to incorrect FP coding which even I
can see. I can very simply write a form tag with a set of values and
ftp the form up in a matter of an hour or so but, can I do that?
Whilst he has given me the ID and pwd to ftp to his site, it doesn't
work when I try to open a web in FP.
If I could open this I would get the form going okay I'm sure.
As I cannot access via FP, can I write a form tag, paste the form tags
into the current page using ftp. This way the actual page created with
FP will be there but I will have just replaced the form tag code with
normal form code.
I hope I have made it clear..
Any advice on how I can get this matter out of my hair!!
Thanks
Rock

| If his form uses the FP Forms handler you can not FTP it
- it will corrupt the FP SE and not work
Since you apparently have FP and his user id / password, ideally open his site in FP and fix the form
File Open Site http://www.hissitename.com/ and log in
Alternatively try to create the form locally and send him the Html (from FP code view) - not the saved html file
- then have him paste it in his FP code view and publish
