Insert Hyperlink only showing open pages
|

| Hi All,
I am providing support to a customer who is experiencing problems with a
certain aspect of Front Page 2002.
The customer can load his site via FrontPage, but when he chooses Insert
Hyperlink the only files that are listed as available to linkto are active
pages currently being worked on in FP. I should also mention that no
folders are listed either.
So if the customer wanted to link to something like a .PDF file, they would
have to manually edit the HTML Code since it is not listed in the Insert
Hyperlink screen and they obviosuly can't open a .PDF file in Front Page to
make it an active tab in order for it to show up in the Insert Hyperlink
list.
All the files he wants to link to are already uploaded and published on the
server.
I also experienced the same problem on 4 other PC's each with their own copy
of Front Page 2002, to make sure it was our problem and not his.
When I try this same process on 2 different domains hosted on the same
server, I don't experience the problem.
I feel that there is some sort of permission issue, or corrupt server
extensions on the Windows Server the site is hosted on, but the Tier 3
upport personel I send the problem too says the problem is not with the
server, but with each of the 4 seperate PC's I have attempted to do this on.
I work for a company that provides hosting, but also do my own hosting
outside of work hours on a 2K Advanced Server with IIS5 and FP Server
Extensions.
I feel that my T3 Support should attempt to remove and re-install the
extensions on this customer site, but they refuse to and say it's the
customers issue.
I guess I was just wondering if anyone has seen this, or if I am correct in
my assumption that they should attempt to re-install the FP Server
Extensions on the customers site. I belive it may also be a permissions
issue.
Can anyone provide some experience/insight into this issue?
Thanks
Jerrad

| Jerrad:
I recommend posting your question in the FP client/general newsgroup, as
this is not a server extensions problem.
