Subweb username/pword not requested

| We have a club website with public and members-only sections. The members
only section has been set up as a subweb with user permissions and passwords
set up.
Certain members can access the subseb (appears to be from personal
computers); other members cannot. I can access from a couple of home
computers but not from my office(employer's) computer. When I try to access
the subweb from here, no username/password request dialog box appears; just a
(almost) blank page saying Error: access denied.
Windows username/password dialog boxes do appear for other (employer
maintained) intranet sites. I'm not sure if the problem is with the set up
of the subweb, host or accessing computer (firewall?).

| The problem is probably permissions. Not only on the site but in =
C:\WINNT as well. But on the server so I am not sure why some would be =
able to write to their sites w/o user\passwords and others not. But =
permissions problems on the server.

| Hi simson
Check the properties of internet explorer in the client computer.
Goto tools -> Internet options
to security, select internet
Click on custom level, scroll up to the bottom and find the user
authentication section.
Change the option to "prompt for user name and password"
If this is not working, check if the site is added to the trusted sites.
Try removing the site from trusted sites.
Also you could try the authentication method of the server to "Basic
Authentication" if it is "integrated windows authentication"
Hope this helps
regards
