Author Frontpage functionality when accessing a directory via a subdomain

I was told that forms in FrontPage forms do not work when accessed via a
subdomain (e.g. http//subdomain.domain.com) and that this is a limitation of
FrontPage. Is this correct?

Yes and No. Yes if the subdomain resolves to a directory on another domain.
Such as subdomain.domain.com = www.domain.com/subdomain. If the subdomain is
actually it's own virtual server, then things should work OK as the entire
subdomain is itself it's own bound version of the extensions.

Hope this helps,
