We're using the fronpage server extentions on our new server 2003 very extensively (about 150 nested sub webs - depth max 3)

Sometimes the server extensions hang. In this case the user doesn't get any message that the server extensions aren’t available or so, but the work with Frontpage is no more possible because opening a 5k HTML file takes 10 minutes (saving the same time
again).
I found out that this happens when someone trys to publish his web to his local disk. What happens when he does that?
In the beginning of the publishing process Frontpage saves some files to disk but some minutes later the publioshing process hangs - even after 1 hour the status bar is at about 25% (total download size 10MB within a 100MB LAN!)
Then the user cancels the process (frustrated). At this time (we could reproduce that) the Frontpage server extentions hang for all the webs.

Maybe we have to configure some things at the server or at the Frontpage Server Extentions.
Did someone hear of problems like these?

Thanks Thomas

Maybe I should add that we're using Frontpage Server Extensions 2002.

We have the same problem here, same versions also.

We can go in and recycle the MS Sharepoint worker process and it starts
working again. Very frustrating.
