I am running Windows 2000 advanced server and I have frontpage 2000 extensions installed. I have installed UrlScan and have followed microsofts directions on how to change it's priority and all of its setup stuff in the .ini but am having a problem with enabling frontpage extensions... meaning that when I create a website in IIS and right click it and go to "All Tasks" I have only one choice to select from and that is "Permission Wizard". There is no option for enabling frontpage extensions...any ideas? If I remove UrlScan then I have both the permission wizard and configure frontpage extensions. I have posted before in the IIS newsgroup but have come up empty for results that worked. Anybody??

naddame - I've been having the same problem. To correct the problem, all I had to do (after I created the virtual directory) was reboot the server. But, you could try this instead first:

1. Create all the Virtual Directories you need
2. Close IIS Manager and Open it back up. You should be able to configure the virtual directories now.

If that doesn't work, you can try a reboot like I did.

I am no expert, but I stumbled across the solution for me and thought I'd share.

I actually had the same problem, but I don't run URLScan.

Here's what I did:

1. Created the Virtual Directories
2. Couldn't configure the extensions, so I closed IIS Manager
3. Rebooted the server
4. Opened up IIS Manager
5. Now I have the option to configure the Virtual Directories.

I'm pretty sure you can omit #3, but that's how I did things.

Hope this helps.

Well, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this
problem...currently not running UrlScan either but would like the additional
security provided by it. Have tried your fix with UrlScan but with no
luck...hope someone out there has better ideas than you and I. But thanks
quikicks for your post.
