Front Page 2003 not support be web hosting service
|
|
|
| I recently upgraded to Front Page 2003 and now find that
my web hosting service does not support it in any way.
The page does not load correctly & after 2 weeks of tech
support calls, my hosting company finally told me to go
to another company as they cannot resolve it. After a lot
of research, in fact, I am having trouble finding a
hosting company who is ready to support FP 03 now, even
after checking the suggested links on the FP 2003 remote
server upload page. I have talked to tech support from
several web hosting companies. So far there is only one
company who supports it at a very expensive price. This
is very disappointing and totally frustrating. My page is
11 mb, 5 pages, simple, no ecommerce, no shopping cart.
Question: I'm strongly considering going back to FP 2000
(until I can find a web hosting solution) by uninstalling
2003 and re-installing 2000. Any advise or tips? I'm
wondering if the fp2003 files will completely uninstall
so there is not a conflict with files or settings. I need
to get my page up right away, as I am currently paying
for hosting that doesn't work.

| Mary,
Take a look at http://www.e-insites.com their "customer support" leaves a little
to be disired but they do support FrontPage 2002 which is (I beleive) the same as
FrontPage 2003. E-insites is upgrading their servers to server 2003 starting Mar 1st
and I think you can host a single web for $9.95 per month.
Good Luck
Jerry

| There are no new server extensions required for FP 2003
(unless you want the new features of WSS)
- it utilizes the FP2000 or FP2002 SE
