Author Why can't I publish from one pc to another? FP 2002

I've been referred to this ng after a discussion on the front page
server extensions ng, where no solutions were forthcoming.

I want to publish all of the FP 2002 webs on Old PC (win2k) to New PC
(winxp) with FP 2002 (both on an intranet). When I try to publish to the
new machine, a logon request occurs which I cannot fulfill. The user
name and password for the admin acct on two machines is the same,
however the logon is never accepted. There is just a workgroup here, but
adding that to the login (in the domain slot of the login prompt) does
not help.

I figured the issue was with FPSE 2002 user accts. I have common logins
on both machines. I have other admin accts which I've tried too. I've
added and extended the list of admin users in the FP Server Extensions.
I cannot get past the login prompt.

I can import the webs on Old PC to New PC. But I'd like to understand
what the problem is with the publish failures I'm running into.

I'm including the FPSE ng in this post, in case it's of interest there.
