I have a Windows 2003 server running IIS6 and version 5.0.2.5012 of the
FrontPage extensions. I have 5 websites all running different host headers
on the same IP address (ie: siteA.somesite.com, siteB.somesite.com, etc). I
have users trying to edit on one of the websites (each with their own
subweb).

I have been having 2 problems.

1.) While sites load quickly for browsing in IE, once a user tries to edit
with FrontPage, it becomes deathly slow.

2.) Users have been experiencing repeated password prompts.

I have tried recalculating and running the server health runs, but nothing
seems to help. Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks,
Matt

I found that I had the same problem when I recreated a VWS, when I couldn't
access the old one with FrontPage. I finally remembered that I hadn't given
it the original Application Pool. As soon as I gave the site the name of
its own application pool, editing in FrontPage became snappy. Open the IIS
Manager, expand the web site list in the left pane, right-click on a site
and choose properties. Click the HomeDirectory tab. In the bottom section,
the bottom line, it is labeled Application Pool. If it says Default
Application Pool, then go create a new Application Pool and then assign it
to the site. Do that for each one of the sites distinguished by host
headers.
