Error when submitting a form
|
|
|
| I've created a form for comments on our employee intranet. However, when I try to submit the information to an e-mail address, I keep getting an error message that says:
"FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.
This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed."
I'm new to FrontPage (we have FP 2003) and our IT department can't provide much help either. What do I need to do to make various components, such as forms, work properly?
Thanks!

| 1) Are the FP server extensions installed on the host server?
2) If so, has the host (IT department) configured the extensions forms to
email transport? If not (assuming FP 2002 extensions) see:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...&Product=fp2002
3) Are you ftping or http publishing to the server?

| 1) No, I don't believe we have installed the FrontPage server extentions. Is that separate software that we have to purchase? What do I need to purchase specifically for FP 2003?
2) Once we install the server extentions, I'll make sure our IT dept does this step.
3) Our intranet is currently for internal purposes, i.e., it will not be on the internet. Do I still need to publish it? If so, how do I do that?
