I've seen this issue in various newsgroups so I am posting up the solution.
If you use FP 2002 extensions and you open up the Sharepoint Admin page, you
may find that the version shows as 6.x.x.x, whereas the proper fp version is
5.x.x.x, so you cannot admin the website cause a message says that the
program is to old or not compatible. To get the extensions working as the
proper version, open Frontpage, and open your website via http. Then using
Tools, recalculate the hyperlinks, and your version will switch to 5.
