Help! We have a win2k3 server that houses many subwebs for our students under a main web. As more students are accessing it for authoring (the edit on the server with FP), it is bogging down. I thought I had the problem solved after reading another post a
bout making a application pool for the website, but that didn't help either.

I strongly suspect the SharePointAppPool application pool, but I dont' know what the best settings should be. Does anybody know of a resource for best practices for IIS 6 and FPSE 2002? Suggestions are welcome!

You might wish to try the:
1) Sharepoint newsgroups
2) IIS newsgroups
3) Win2k3 newsgroups

Start with the defaults and see if that helps. I forgot to assign a pool to a VHS and it
was so slow I couldn't use it. Even the default settings got it back to good.

You might consider setting up several virtual web servers, each with its own
application pool, so that the load is split over several VWSs and AppPools.
