Author Authoring setup behind ISA

We've repatriated sites from an external ISP to an in-
house server that I just set up.

I have W2K3 with IIS6 installed and FPSE2002 installed.
This is behind a W2K box with ISA installed.

I copied the site from the external ISP to our new server
using FP2000 to republish the site. I used the W2K3
Administrator userid to do that initial republishing,
since I had a few sites to move. I can see the sites from
the outside world, and they all seem to work just like
when they were on the external hosting service.

For one site, I have set up a user as "Advanced Author."
This user is the webmaster for the non-profit org whose
site we're hosting, so he's not one of our employees.
Using this "Advanced Author" user id, FP2K doesn't fetch
the pages. It just seems to load and load forever.

What did I miss? Does the user have to be authenticated
in Active Directory too (I haven't done that)? or is it
something else that I'm missing?

TIA
