| Hi guys,
Iam facing a weird problem in fixing FP server extensions 2002 in
windows 2000 which used to work before. But it suddenly stopped
working and iam not able to figure out whats wrong. All patches are
applied very regularly and I dunno if any of them could cause this
problems.
Two problems..
1) The sharepoint administration doesnt seem to work at all. After I
login succesfully fpexedll.dll just stops there and just keeps running
for a long time. I cant get into the administration panel at all.
There are no events about this in the event log as well as application
log. I have tried re-installing many times, but no hopes.
2) And, we use command line setup (owsadm.exe -o install -u username
-p lm/W3SVC/siteindex) to enable FP extensions for virtual hosting
accounts and they execute without any errors. But when I try to open
the web from client computer using Frontpage 2000, I cannot even
authenticate. Even Administrator user account would'nt allow me login.
So my only guess is that somehow the authentication thingy is broken.
Again there are no events in event/application log.
URlscan is installed on this server according to
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318290. Even un-installing urlscan
doesnt help. But iam sure it was working before with Urlscan.
Did anyone have this problem/symptoms ? Is there any document to
troubleshoot Frontpage 2002 related problems ?
