|
|
| Karen 2004-06-26, 10:50 am |
| Environment:
W3k IIS6 / FP server extension allowed/ Indexing server allowed/ webdav
prohibited
FTP Disabled ( my w3k server is running FTP GUILD )
- website FP extension is enabled ( as I can see 'recalculate server
extension' , 'remove server extension' .... in my website admin )
- I didn't configure subweb/ users in FP extension admin
when i publish from my frontpage, it gives error of
"Unable to open 'http://www.xxxx.' Possible Causes:
1/The web server may not have FP server extensions installed.
2/The web server maybe temporarily out of service.
3/If you are connected through a proxy server, the proxy setttings may be
correct.
4/An error may have occured in the web server."
What things go wrong ?

Getting the FPSE to run is a two step process:
Step 1) downloading and installing the FPSE to the IIS server.
Step 2) configuring each separate Virtual Web Server (site) to use the
FPSE.
Unfortunately, until you complete Step 2, the error message will be
that the FPSE are not installed, when, really, they are just not
configured.

| Note: Currently For Windows 2003 Server, there are no downloadable version of the extensions
available, must use the extensions that are included on the OS CD.
