Frontpage & Sharepoint

| Hi,
With Sharepoint 2001 we were not able to use frontpage
extensions on the same sever. Because of this we kept
frontpage webs on another server and redirected the
virtual directory to that server. This had the
disadvantage of all users browsing the frontpage web with
all the same rights as the one user.
Now we have Sharepoint 2003 we want to move the frontpage
webs on to the same server as sharepoint. I have created
a virtual directory and pointed it to a folder on the
same server (outside of inetpub). The properties of the
virtual directory are set to use the DefaultAppPool.
We are not able to use frontpage 2003 to edit the
frontpage webs. The option to edit is not available.
Can anyone please tell me if what I am doing is right, or
if there is a better way to do it? Is there a way to
enable the site so that it can be edited

| After you created the virtual directory, did you make it a FrontPage web?
You need to use create the FrontPage web through the IIS MMC and New |
Server Extensions Web and name the web the exact same as the virtual
directory.
Hope this helps,
