I get about 300 of those each a day in my event log, yes.. 300.. a day

System is.. Windows 2003 Web Edition, IIS 6

Nothing special about it.

Any ideas?

Hi

if you are using URLscan check these KB article. If this is not helping try
changing the application protection to iss IIS to low

Unless by Default Server 2003 Web edition comes with URLscan enabled we
arent running it.

If this is not helping try

and I dont think you can change application protection in IIS 6, or at least
I cant figure out how. any light you can shed on this?

Hi Drew


Yes ,Application protection setting is not applicable to windows 2003.

For window 2003 you could check the following .

Restart the Microsoft SharePoint Administration site is in the IIS console
Also you could try Changing the apppool account to System( ONLY for
testing).
Try creating a new site and extend the site with FrontPage server
extensions and check event log for the same error
If the same error recurs try extending the site using the command prompt.
Also check the error log in c:\windows\system32\logfiles\httperr.
