I m trying hard on this.... I added to my IIS 6 three Virtual Servers
After I apply the Frontpage Server Extension to it.
with some Virtual Server this is no problem. but with others I cant do it

I get the Error: The server administration programs and the server
extensions on the web server are not compatible. The administration program
is too old to use with this server.

The funny thing is. I only get this erromessage with Webpages who have been
written with frontpage.

any hints on that....
regards
ray

Hi Ray,

It might be due to the fact that you edit the server based web as a disk
based one. That is, you opened the d:\interpub\wwwroot or the home
directory of the web site using FrontPage 2003.

Try the following steps

1. Open the home directory of the web site through windows explorer.
2. Open the _vti_pvt folder. Open the 'Service.cnf' file (file with a
little computer icon) in Notepad. Make a backup of the file before editing
it.
3. Search for _vti_extenderversion. If the value is 6.0.x.xxx, then change
it to 5.0.2.5012.

Hope this helps
