| I actually didn't get to try your suggestion, because I discovered something
else.
I went digging into the windows users and groups, and located the OWS_X_*
accounts for the site we were having problems with. (where X is the unique
site ID, and * represents the different group accounts: admin, advauthor,
etc) The odd thing was that for the correct site ID, X, the description for
the OWS_X_admin account for the site had a description field for a different
site that we removed long ago.
Since we were going to recreate the entire site from production as a last
resort, we deleted the OWS_X_admin account. Then, we went into Sharepoint
Administrator, and added a user that didn't have administrative privileges
before. This apparently re-created the OWS_X_admin account w/ the correct
description, and the correct privileges.
From what I can guess, either FPSE or Sharepoint must have been dealing with
an incorrect or corrupted entry in the roles.ini file. Does that sound right?
