Default Web Site Administrator Permissions
|
|
| Matt Soukup 2005-01-26, 5:54 pm |
| I have a SBS2003 server that I want to publish my Web Site to. I have
checked the Server Extensions and it is running SharePoint and FrontPage
Server Extensions (Version 5.0.2.5012). I can get to FrontPage Server
Extensions 2002 Change Configuration Settings, but if I try to go to Site
Addministration
(http://server/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpa...ge=webadmin.htm) I get the
following message:
---------------------------------------------------------------
You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this page using your current user
account.
Please try the following:
If you have another user account with a higher level of permission, click
your browser's Back button to try again using that account.
If you believe you should be able to view this page, contact the Web site
administrator.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I am working directly on the server logged in as the Administrator. I do not
see any reason I should not have permission. If I try to go to the Check
Server Extensions
(http://server/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpa...page=health.htm) I get the
same error.
The SharePoint Central Administrator web site has no problem with these.
I have completelly uninstalled and reinstalled the extensions and it does no
good.
I also cannot get FrontPage 2003 on my local workstation to connect to the
server's website for publishing.

| Hi Matt,
Right click on the default web site and click on properties. Click on the
Directory security tab and make sure that Anonymmous and Basic/Integrated
Windows Authentication is selected.
Hope this helps
