Author Frontpage extensions in Windows 2000 using Frontpage 2003

This is my first time building a website on a Windows 2000 server using
Frontpage 2003. I am trying to enable the server extensions to enable me to
use forms etc. From Add/Remove Programs I added the server extensions and
configured the email settings etc but now if I right click the website in IIS
and select All Tasks/Check Extensions I get an error "The server
administration programs and server extensions on the web server are not
compatibile. The administation program is too old to use with this server"
but then says no errors. I tried upgrading to the 2003 server extensions and
editing the SharePoint website properties but still get the same error. When
trying to upload my website from Frontpage I get an error saying that the
server extensions are not installed on the server. What do I need to do to be
able to get this to work? Do I need to be using Frontpage 2000 instead of
2003. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated. Thanks in advance

You cannot upgrade to FP2003 Server Extensions - they do not exist.
SharePoint requires a Windows 2003 server.
To administer the 2002 extensions go to
Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Microsoft SharePoint Administrator

Regardless of the name, this is the FrontPage 2002 server extensions
administration pages.

Quite right, it was fpse02x86_eng.exe that I installed and gives me the
web-based application in Administrative Tools. However, I can click the
Upgrade option in there but when right clicking the site, selecting All
Tasks/Check Server Extensions I still get the "The server administration
programs and server extensions on the web server are not compatibile. The
administation program is too old to use with this server" error. And when
trying to upload the site using FP2003 I get the same "extensions are not
installed on the server" error.

I've Stopped and Started the website, restarted the IIS Admin service (and
it's dependencies) but still get the same errors.

Any ideas why?

As I said, use Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Microsoft SharePoint
Administrator to configure the extensions. FP2002 extensions cannot be
configured from the IIS MMC - whereas FP2000 extensions are configured from
there.

I got it sorted eventually. Althought I'd enable the extensions via
SharePoint Admin the reason it wasn't working was because the website wasn't
the default website, I'd created a new one. Once I moved it back to be thhe
Default Website it all started working.

Thanks for your help
