Author User Already Exists?

Somewhere along the way I created a user in the sharepoint services, and
then later deleted it. Now I'm trying to create it again, but the sharepoint
services manager won't let me. It says the user already exists. But when I
look at the list of users, both in the sharepoint control panel *and* in
Windows' user list, it doesn't appear anywhere. How do I get rid of the
existing user and re-create one with the same name? Where do I go to delete
the original one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Jonathan

Fascinating. I searched the web for answers to this question. And while I
found many pages with the same or similar question, in all cases it was
totally ignored. What gives? Does nobody have a solution? Is it a bug in the
FrontPage extensions?

Somebody answer, PLEASE.

Regards,
Jonathan
