Unable to Get FPSE to work with Authentication
|

| Hi there-
I am unable to get FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) to work with
authentication. Each time I enable the authentication, it prompts
anyone trying to view the actual site for authentication. When I turn
on anonymous access to the site, FPSE also becomes anonymous.
Here's my current setup:
-MS Windows 2000, Service Pack 4
-IIS 5 (but I'm not sure -- is there any easy way to tell?)
-FPSE 2002
-The two sites that I use with FPSE are on the same IP address and use
host headers for differentiation.
Does anyone have any ideas?

| Host Header could be the problem.
Did the FP2000 extensions work prior to upgrading to FP2002?

| Thanks for the reply!
I'm new to managing our FPSE, so I'm not sure how the FP2000 extensions
worked.
So host headers... have you heard of any definite issues regarding
this? Or is there any documentation saying that Host Headers and FPSE
shouldn't be used together?

| The extensions are normally installed to a website / IP address, so when you use host header you are
sharing an IP address and as well as sharing the extensions. Suggest you post to the Windows Server
or IIS Newsgroup for help with this.
