Trying to administer site gives "You are not authorized to view this page" ?

| Hi,
On a Windows Server 2003 Web I've installed FP2002 extensions (and the
server also has the sharepoint extensions, but these are not used for this
virtual site). I've extended a virtual site using the web-interface - and
specified a local account to be the administrator of the site. But when
clicking "Go to Site administration for http://sitename.dk" I get an error
from the URL
http://sitename.dk/_vti_bin/_vti_ad...ge=webadmin.htm saying:
You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this page using your current user
account.
Please try the following:
a.. If you have another user account with a higher level of permission,
click
your browser's Back button to try again using that account.
a.. If you believe you should be able to view this page, contact the Web
site administrator.
I've tried to remove the extensions, and add them again using the
adminsitrator account as the site administrator - but still same problem...
Can anyone tell me how to solve this ?
Regards,
/Brian

| Try going into IIS Manager, right clicking on the subweb and selecting
properties. Go to directory security and check the security settings.
If it's set to be anonymous, check and see if you have "basic
authentication" set. If you don't, try enabling it and then go back to
your WebAdmin page.
