Refresh dev USAGE using live IIS logs

| Is there anyway to copy the production IIS logs onto a development machine
and run the OWSADM tool rebuild the usage details in the appropriate dev fp
webs? I've tried and all I get is <0> pages updated. My guess is that it
won't rebuild logs in the past. I've tried a complete uninstall of fp
extensions from the development webs, re-adding fp extensions, and then
running owsadm. zero luck.

| Darrin,
I have this working but here is what I needed to do-and I do have issues
that I am trying to get past:
1. setup the new website
2. enable logging and set the advanced settings to log the same criteria as
the original web site.
3. extend web with FP extensions
4. open the website properties and go to the server extensions tab and open
the web administration for server extensions
5. open the administration for your site ad enable usage analysis and set
the start time to at least 1hr from the current time and save and close.
6. stop the website.
7. copy logs files from old web server to the proper log files directory for
the given website- signified by the website indentifyer ID (instance Id?)
8. start the website
9. run usage analysis manually from the command prompt as outlined in the
following article (assuming w2k3- may work in w2k)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889363
10. Open FP and open the website -go to reports- you should see usage data
*HERE IS WHERE MY PROBLEM LIES-I can only get it to run data from 2/1/05 to
the current date of 3/10/05 and yet I have 3 to 5 years worth of logs I want
to port over.
Let me know what you come up with as I am interested to hear how it turns
out for you.
