I've had a hard disk crash and have reinstalled Win XP, including SP2. I am
running Norton Antivirus 2005. After reinstalling Win XP I am not able to
access a homepage via FTP. I'm trying to upload some revised pages to my
domain at Skynet in Belgium. When I type in ftp://users.skynet.be/ I get an
error message that says, "Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you
typed the filename correctly and that you have permission to access the
folder.
Details: Details: The operation timed out". There appears no other failure
messages/numbers.
I have tried to disconnect the Win XP Firewall, tried to disconnect my
Antivirus programme and checked my password only contains normal letters.
Finally, I have checked Enable folder view for FTP sites.
What have I missed?'

If you're comfortable with the command line, try ftp that way. Here's an MS
docs page on XP FTP:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/.../en-us/ftp.mspx

If the command lind method works, then there's a good chance it's a problem
with your application, not the operating system.

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, the command line approach did not
solve the problem.
