Web and subwebs appear in FrontPage, but not when running "Check Server Extension

I have a problem when I run the "Check Server Extensions" function. It only
finds the root "/" web and none of the many subwebs I have configured.

When I connect to the web site in FrontPage, though, all of the subwebs
appear properly as well as the custom permissions.

I am afraid that the fact that "Check Server Extensions" can't find any
subwebs indicates that there are potential problems with the web site that I
just haven't seen yet. Not only that, but if I have a problem with a
subweb, then I can't detect/repair the problem since the function is only
looking at the root of the web.

Can you suggest where I should look to try to fix the problem?
