Author Can't reset Hit Counter FP2003

I published a page with FP2003 with a Hit Counter at the bottom of page, it
started at 00001, I want to change the number I have published, but it won't
reset. My ISP assures me the FP Server Extensions are active. The code
definitely shows the new value:

<!--webbot bot="HitCounter" i-image="1" I-ResetValue="815" I-Digits="5"
U-Custom startspan --><img
src="_vti_bin/fpcount.exe/?Page=index.html|Image=1|Digits=5" alt="Hit
Counter"><!--webbot bot="HitCounter" i-checksum="43210" endspan --><br>

After publishing, it still shows the same low number. Am I doing something
wrong?
TIA John

Open the remote (live) site in FrontPage and reset the counter there.
(No need to publish). Open the counter file in _private folder (named
similar to pagename.htm.cnt)
and change the count - do not change the number of digits displayed.

File->Open Site
Choose your remote site from My Network Places or type in the URL in
the form http://www.example.com

Or open the local site, choose the remote Site tag and open the remote
site from there.

The counter in your local web is probably marked as "Do not publish"
which is why the changes do not publish.

Thanks Ronx,
Exactly the info I wanted. There was a red dot with a cross in it on the
remote site in the /private folder, when I clicked on 'don't publish' on the
drop down menu it fixed the problem and removed the red dot.
Cheers,
John

After you publish, reset that file to "Do not publish", else the next
publish will again reset the remote site to whatever your local site
has reached.
