Server Extension problem and Send to Database Disabled
|

| The FrontPage database features are not available in this Web because the
server extensions on the web server are from a previous version of FrontPage.
I have uninstalled the extensions on the server, downloaded new ones from
Microsoft and ran the installation then installed the extensions using the
frontpage administrator.
Also
I'm surely not the only person that has had this problem. I have a WEB
Server an NT 4.0 box with IIS 3.0 installed. I thought I would give
FrontPage a shot, tried a demo page yesterday, it created the Access database
but the page that was to update the database would not update the database.
Later I tried to create a new WEB and when I went to send to Database the
option was disabled. I have updated everything I can think of between last
night and today but still disabled. Any Ideas?
Developing on XP Pro to the NT 4.0 Server. I even installed FrontPage on
the Server with latest service pack and it too has the "Send to Database"
option disabled.

| First, I would consider moving to IIS 4.0:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&DisplayLang=en
If this is broken, consider:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads
And look for WIndows NT 4.0 Server: Option Pack x86
The main reason is IIS 3.0 is simply not very secure. Also, the newest FPSE
may not have been tested back that far. IIS 4.0 has been out since 1998/99
for NT 4.0. The latest version of the Option Pack is 2001.
