I have had this question in the FP group but was advised that it belongs in
the Index group...

I have installed FrontPage2003 on a laptop running WindowXP Pro with IIS/5.1
server. When I publish to it a web from ISP created with FP2002 that had a
search.htm page in it, I cannot view the search page on my laptop. I get an
error :

Front Page Error
user please report details to this site's webmaster
Webmaster pleaser see the server's application event error log for more
details. (when I checked the message there it said indexing services
started.. No user action required...

The address bar points to:
http://mylocal/myweb/_vti_bin/shtml.dll/search.htm

When I create a new FP2003 web with a search page in it, it gives the same
error. How can I get my FP search page work in FP2003??

thanks Veronika

But you posted to three groups, two of which aren't related to
indexing...

If you are trying to use WAIS then you must uninstall Index Service
(IS). If the IS is running FPextensions will attempt to use it -
which means building a catalogue for the web site

While I suggest using Indexing Services for more versatility and often
better speed, WAIS will work. Remove Indexing Services and you should
have little trouble getting your search to work.
