Sharepoint Server 2.0
|
|
|
| I have a Windows 2003 server and apparently it doesn't like Microsoft's own
frontpage extensions -- whatever version is supposed to be used now with
version 6 of IIS. I installed frontpage extensions from the Server
Components (as suggested) but apparently they are incompatible.
So then I thought, hey, why not install Sharepoint 2.0 SP1 and see if that
fixes anything. What's another 3 hours anyway? Well, did, and nothing in
the config about frontpage extensions (nor on an extra tab in IIS 6 admin
snapin) so I'm kind of wondering if these extensions are sort of heading the
way of the dodo bird... If so, would be nice of you all to let us know that
we should shift completely to ASP.NET or some other platform...

If you had FPSE2002 installed on the box when you installed SharePoint Portal
Server, then you want to uninstall it, uninstall SPPS, WSS, and IIS, and
reinstall IIS and then SPPS. Otherwise you will never get search in SPPS to
work.
