| Hi
I created a feedback form which is configured to send email to my email
address and also to store data in HTML file format(I created this form using
FrontPage 2003). When I fill up the form and click the submit button the
error page appears with the following message:
FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details.
I configured feedback form to display confirmation page with confirmation
fields accordingly to feedback form. I receive an email in my email box with
the data submitted in the feedback form. But data does not store in HTML
file which is in _private/form_results.htm and FrontPage Error appears
instead of confirmation page. It is strange because it worked a few days ago
and now it doesn't. This problem also appears in discussion form which I
created in FrontPage 2003.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks,
Peter

| I didn't see a followup, did you resolve this issue? I have the same error today, new with nothing changed on the server (that I know of).

.....zzz
sorry, I posted this right after changing a setting (sort of) then resubmitting the post.... it fixed it.
here's what I did:
I used the administration page (it's an intranet, so I have access to IIS and administration, thankfully) to check server health.
Now it works. | |
|
| was there ever any resolution to this ?
I am having a similar problem with sites on 2 different machines - one XP
Pro and the other W2k server. Both have fp2002 extensions installed.
when a form is submitted on either site i get the same error listed below.
on xp, the mail is not sent and the text file is not updated
on w2k server mail is sent and file is updated.
on both machines there are no errors in the event logs
and iis logs show a successful post to /web/_vti_bin/shtml.dll

| turns out there was an event log entry on the w2k server :
source: Frontpage 5.0
event ID 1000
Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
http://www.mysite.ca - Error #60009 Message: Page "test.htm"
contains
a throw that is recursive, or that is nested more than 1 levels.
Including stopped at "test.htm".
I have been able to locate zero info on this error - sounds like an internal
server issue ( dare i say bug )
anyone seen this problem ? or know how to fix it ?

| ok so this is really strange.
when I hit submit , I get the error & behaviour described below.
but before that , on w2k server , i get 2 events for each page linked to by
a navigation bar
event 1000 error #20002 http://www.mysite.ca Message: cannot open file
for "linkedPage.htm" writing
event 1000 OS Error #3 Access is denied
and finally i get the nesting error listed below on the page that contains
the form.
again google is turning up zilch.
????? why does posting a form attempt to modify anything other than the
specified text file ?????
