Author CAN I USE XP PROFESIONAL AS WEB SERVER

I am trying to set up a small intranet for within the office network for
about 8 people. I have learnt to use Frontpage but not had the chance to use
the extra facilities that the server extensions bring. I have been advised
that I can use Windows XP Profesional to host the site as Frontpage
Extensions and IIS are part of the install. Before I do this I was trying to
confirm I would be able to them use things like forms back to access
databases and the search function etc. Would go for server. Thanks

You can, but it's limited to a single website and to 10 simultaneous
connections.

....and that doesn't mean 10 simultaneous users...

XP Pro, as all workstation OS's, supports only 10 simultaneous
connections. A browser may make up to four (or even more) connections
for a single request, meaning IIS on workstation operating systems
will handle 2-5 users at a time.
