I have Sharepoint running on my server but when I want to edit the sharepoint
page it keeps saying I need to load the Frontpage ext which I have already
loaded. Does anyone know what could fix this issue.

Is this server SBS, by chance, and are you really talking Windows SharePoint
Services, rather than SharePoint Portal Server?
