Hi, we have designed a website using Frontpage, one of our page
http://glamorous-restaurantcouk.sit...ine_booking.asp is a
form that will require people to fill in. The problem is that when we try to
configure the results to be sent via email, the following error message
occurred:

'The FrontPage Server Extensions have not been configured to send e-mail.
Please direct your system administrator or Internet Service Provider to the
instructions in 'Setting Up Your E-mail Options on Windows' or 'Setting up
Email options on UNIX' in the Server Extensions Resource Kit.

Would you like to remove the e-mail recipient? (Yes or No)'

Our website is host by Hostway,UK, I have contact them for assistance but
it seems useless. They replied that their host server has been configured to
send email. I really not sure if it is the problem of our own settings or
Hostway's. Could someone please give advice on why the error message occurs
and how we could solve this problem.

Thanks alot!

This is not a FrontPage Extensions problem.
The form is configured to send the form data to Online_booking.asp for
processing - code within this page should send the form data to email.
Since the form is on an ASP page the extensions cannot be used for
form processing.

FYI, the page uses a great deal of VML graphics. VML can only be seen
in IE5.5 and later running on Windows PCs. Nearly 25% of browsers in
use now are not IE, all they will see instead are poor quality .gif
images, or nothing at all.

Thanks for the information.

Does it mean that for the data to be sent to email, the form should be an
HTM extention but not ASP extention?
I am a beginner in MS Frontpage, could you pls give some more details on how
to set the code within the page to send the form data to email.

I didnt realise, really thanks for the advice on the VML graphics.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have been try to follow the step on
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;305675
but my IIS doesn't seem to have all of the mentioned opions, when I
right-click the machine name, and then click Properties, there are no Server
Extensions 2002 tab. But I do have a 'Server Extensions Administrator' in
the Administrative Tools that will open the fpmmc.

I am abit puzzled, could anyone please help with this issue.
Thanks!

Agnes

Sounds like you have FP2000 extensions. If this is the case then see
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/a...1382671033.aspx
(email set up is near bottom of the page).
If you have FP2002 extensions, then look for
control-panel->Administration Tools->Microsoft Sharepoint
Administrator
To see the FPextensions version, open the web in FrontPage, then
Tools->Web/Site Settings - General tab
Version 4.xxx is FP2000, Version 5.xxx is FP2002, Version 6.xx
indicates a WSS site or disc-based site in FP2003.

A very rough guide is also at www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp/b/smtp
