Hello everyone,

Whenver I try to upload a file through Sharepoint Services on Windows
2000 Server, I get an error saying:

FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.

Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more
details.

Looking in the eventlog gives the following error:

Error #2005d Message: The server extensions were unable to access the
file "service.lck"

I read somewhere to try deleting the service.lck files. I have done
that and then I will be able to upload until my heart is content.
However, when I try to upload in a new browser window, The errors
repeat and the service.lck files return.

I have an administrative level account for both the Sharepoint and
Domain. I have confirmed that I have permission to the services.lck
file

I can still delete files no matter what situation I have.

Does anyone know what is going on here?

Thanks

"However, when I try to upload in a new browser window"

Can you please explain what you mean by this?

Hi Tom,

I close the Internet Explorer browser window that I was originally
uploading from. I Then open a new Internet Explorer browser window and
navigate to the same upload page. Now I cannot upload because the
service.lck files and the errors return. Basically I can go to the
upload site, upload as much as I want until I close the browser. If I
want to open the browser again and upload, I need to go manually delete
the service.lck files, or I will receive the errors mentioned above.
