A corrupted automatic update from McAfee on 7-13-2005 has caused enormous
problems with my laptop.

While I am managing slowly to unravel the mess, there is still one remaining
unresolved issue: I cannot edit my website online via FrontPage any longer.
When I open the website via Internet Explorer and then click on the FrontPage
edit icon, FrontPage is unable to connect to the web site server. It does
not recognize the web address. This only happens with my laptop... all other
computers in the house arew able to connect to the Internet via FP.

In seeking a resolution, among other things (like about 15 zillion calls and
chats to McAfee support), I have unistalled and reinstalled FP extensions,
contacted my web host to ensure that they are not the cause, cleaned up FP
extensions (using previous posts on this support site, as a guideline),
uninstalled and reinstalled FrontPage and uninstalled, reinstalled and
updated my McAfee Internet Security Suite 7.0 package. The McAfee personal
firewall is open to FrontPage and I have also turned off the Windows Service
Pack 2 firewall.

I have also contacted the virus support group at Microsoft, but after being
on hold for 20+ minutes, found that my budget simply cannot afford to
continue with this toll call option!

What other solutions are available to fix this problem?

PS: My laptop was absolutely fine before the automatic update from McAfee on
the 13th of July. Everything was working perfectly...

Please help!
